The Book Club

It's The Daring Cardmakers Day today.  And we all joining Kathy's BOOK CLUB. The dare is all about the books to create a card with the book theme anyway we wish. Here is my card. I am reading Elizabeth Gilbert's Eat Pray Love ... and I can't somehow move from Italy :0)

Easter

Easter just isn't complete without cute image of baby chicks. The October Afternoon Rub-ons is from my stash and the fabulous ribbon is from The Ribbon Reel . By the way this is the first time what I've used their yummy prize on my card. ( I've won "reeling in the ribbon" dare at The Daring Cardmakers recently ).

Going Postal

This week was Jo's turn at  The Daring Cardmakers. Our dare was to create design with a  postal theme.  I was so devastated after the earthquake in Japan so I thought it would be nice to make a card for people there in Japan.

Here is my symbolism : 

Pink colour : cancer campaign  (radiation)

Red and white :  colours of Japan (flag)

Blue : sea

Black : catastrophe (earthquake, tsunami)

Dove with green branch : hope and new life

Letters Japan : islads of Japan

 Bazzill cardstock, My Mind's Eye, Paper flowers, Slice (Basic elements and Think pink), Letters stickers, Pearl sticker, Ribbons, Distress tool, Crop-a-dile Big bite (for the stamp edges), Black pen and black ink

Homebaked or Homemade

This week The Daring Cardmakers  Vanessa's challenge is to create your own embellishment. I "homebaked" a nice flower. Here are the ingredients I used: fabric petals, white lace, diecut scallop circles from the shoe shop paper bag and a little satin rose bud with a stone.

Best Wedding Wishes

I made this card couple of weeks ago. We had some weddings season. This was the spare card.( Just in case! ) I drew a wedding cake image, coloured with a Letraset promarker pen, finished with some glitter glue for a nice shiny effect.

Daffodil or Jonquil

What a great news my mum is back from hospital full of energy (God bless her!) and The Daring Cardmakers DT invited me to be their guest designer.                        God bless them too!

Pound Shop Pretties

This week are Daring Cardmakers creating cards using bargain stash from the Pound or Dollar shops. My local bargain shop is 99p shop. I bought and used nice red gems ( 120 Stick On Diamonds ) from there. I was playing with the idea to use some zipper as well. So, here we go ...  let me introduce you my first card with a dress zipper.

This card is for my mum. She's in the hospital now. Mum, get well soon !
